The most common sweet dish of Northern India is Lassi.
Yogurt is blended with water or we can say ice forms the basic lassi.
HISTORY:
Here we know , the earliest mentions of lassi have been found in ancient Indian texts dating as far back as 1000BC .
As we can see these texts include Ayurveda which literally refers to the benefits of blended yogurt beverage. It could be well be the first Smoothie of the world!!
But we know today lassi is made with almost every flavour under the sun…. But tradionally we know lassi can be made either sweet or salty. And if we want to make more tastier or anything special we can add garnish or we can flavour of different rose petals and most of the salted lassi is typically flavoured with cumin , mint leaves and some fresh ginger.
As we know in some parts of Northern India, the summer months can be oppressively warm with variation temperatures which is easily crossing 110 . The most important thing that is there is a natural way to keep cool is to drink copious quantities of chilled lassi. And we know that how much Yogurt is good for our health. The Yogurt is naturally cooling and full of good bacteria that aid digestion
Ayurveda also suggests a different wide varieties of food that help balance intestinal or gut flora by introducing beneficial bacteria into the body. And all the fermented things such as fermented vegetables , fermented cheeses and Yogurt are all considered probiotic.
And Probiotic obviously include good bacteria into the digestive system.
Apparently, Yogurt in it’s thick form isn’t as effective as the blended lassi.

The benefits of lassi gets doubled trippled when it will be combined or there will be some add ons with other highly nutritional foods like Mango.
And as the name come Mango , In India it is referred to the fruits of king or king of fruits. This moniker isn’t just because of it’s delicious taste , but obviously because of it’s intense medicinal and healing properties.

It is Very rich in antioxidants and fiber. Mangoes are a high source of Vitamin C . This nutrient is rich fruit in combination with the cooling. Yogurt forms the almost irresistible mango lassi.
